As the daughter of a professional ice skater and singer, my creativity flourished on the ice and later as a dancer. Sidelined by an injury, I found my way to journalism, working as a feature writer in LA, where, after college, I covered technology, interior design, architecture, art, and business trends. Working in-house and later freelance, I wrote for national and international publications.
My experience includes children’s publishing, where I served as managing editor for a book packager of children’s books. I ghost-wrote and edited children’s books and managed all facets of the company’s editorial process. I continue to work with authors in this genre. In 2012, I launched my freelance editorial business, based in Encinitas, CA, which serves independent authors, magazine publishers, and corporations.
I have an undergrad degree from UCLA, a Masters degree in Literature and Writing from CSU, San Marcos, and a copyediting certificate from UCSD. I am well-versed in Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style and take editorial courses annually to build my skill level.
